Their depth and breadth are testimony to the extraordinary woman that Gretta was and the passion that she inspired in the anti-corruption community and beyond.

Many have shared their sympathy and memories on LinkedInX and Facebook.

  1. A tragic loss not only for the Basel Institute but for the entire international anti-corruption community. Greta brought expertise, passion and conviction to her work. She will be greatly missed. Lucinda Low

  2. A huge loss for us all… a keen analyst, intellectual leader, and an inspiring presence on the ground—.We never met, I’m sorry to say, but I have found her work useful in so many ways…

  3. This is very sad news ??. How can someone so young and so beautiful, so full of life and ideas die like this? A big loss to the anti-corruption community. I last saw her in December at UNCOSP 10. I was looking forward to seeing you again at the IACC in June but death has just snatched you from us all. You will always be in our memories. You came, saw and conquered! You were an anti-corruption heroine. Always thinking about the poor countries in Africa. Thank you for all that you did.

  4. Gretta’s passing is an immense loss to the entire anti-corruption community – my path crossed hers only in passing but her thinking inspired me. My thoughts go to her family, friends, and colleagues.
